TECHNICIAN

Field operations interface — work order queue, inspection forms, parts logging, offline-first mobile, and GPS punch. The primary field role.

// OPS_COMPANION FIELD MANUAL

The Technician is OPS Companion's primary field operator. Their interface is designed for single-handed use on a work-site — large tap targets, minimal navigation depth, and full offline capability. A Technician can complete an entire work day (punch-in, accept assignments, complete inspections, log parts, punch-out) without a single piece of paper and without a continuous network connection.

RLS restricts Technicians to exactly what they need: their own assigned work orders, the machines linked to those orders, and the parts inventory they are authorized to consume. They cannot see financial data, other technicians' work, or system configuration.

Mobile-First Interface

WORK ORDER QUEUE

Chronological list of assigned orders. Preempted orders marked with priority flag. One tap to activate.

ACTIVE TASK SCREEN

Full-screen current assignment — machine info, task description, parts list, photo capture, notes.

INSPECTION FORMS

Structured digital forms with required fields, photo checkpoints, and signature capture.

PUSH-TO-TALK

Hold-to-talk button available from any screen — one tap to broadcast to their team channel.

PARTS LOOKUP

Search by name or number. Log consumed parts directly to the active work order.

PUNCH CLOCK

GPS-stamped punch-in/out from the home screen. Offline queue if no signal.

Work Order Workflow

A Technician's typical work order progression is locked into a strict sequence by the Workflow Engine (Jour 11). They cannot skip steps, modify completed reports, or submit incomplete forms. The system enforces the protocol — training alone does not.

01

Receive push notification for new assignment

02

Acknowledge assignment → status moves to ASSIGNED

03

Tap 'En Route' when departing → GPS tracking begins

04

Arrive on site → GPS auto-detects client geofence → 'On Site' status

05

Begin work → log parts as consumed, capture progress photos

06

Complete mandatory inspection gate(s) with photo evidence and signature

07

Submit for sign-off → Supervisor or client signs digitally

08

Work order sealed — audit record created, machine history updated

Offline Capability

Every action a Technician takes is available offline: punch-in, work order progression, inspection form completion, parts logging, photo capture, notes. All modifications are queued with vectorized temporal signatures and merged intelligently on reconnect — with zero data loss and zero manual reconciliation.

SYNC GUARANTEE
The offline merge algorithm uses intent-aware conflict resolution. If two conflicting actions occur (offline vs online), the system resolves by intent — never by last-write-wins. This means no lost work order completions, no duplicate punch entries, no missing inspection records.
